Telecoms provider Blueface is leaving the market at the end of October. Launched in 2004 it was a huge part of the migration into cloud based in the Irish industry. After a successful twenty years in business Blueface will leave the market. The industry has changed and Blueface’s biggest issue was it never diversified out of voice into the data sector. Covid accelerated the business move into cloud solutions and customers moving away from communicating through voice and to using e-mail, webchat and ordering online. Phone call activity has decreased by 65% since the outbreak of Covid. Microsoft Teams has also had a huge impact on the phone system industry. As users got familiar with MS Teams platform, they realised their business needs had changed and using Teams was an option. This saw a dramatic drop in the demand for phone systems.
As many customers are now realising, MS Teams does not offer all the features their previous system had, clients are re-engaging over voice and businesses are looking to improve their engagement with their customers.
