Since 2023, VEI Global has been working in partnership with Mowlam Nursing
Home Group, Ireland’s largest private nursing home provider.
With 31 facilities nationwide, over 2,000 specialist care beds, Mowlam is a
national leader in elderly care, prioritising excellence in clinical standards, staff,
services, and facilities.
Mowlam approached VEI Global with two key challenges:
– Their existing Ubiquiti Wi-Fi network needed centralised management to
ensure reliability for staff and residents.
– Several homes suffered from poor mobile phone coverage, creating
difficulties for both clinical staff and residents who rely on mobile
connectivity to stay in touch with families.
The client required a solution that would improve connectivity across all sites,
could be monitored 24/7, and delivered consistent reliability in a healthcare
environment.
VEI Global began by migrating all of Mowlam’s Wi-Fi networks onto a
centralised Ubiquiti controller. This allows the VEI Global Helpdesk to
proactively monitor all sites, respond immediately to outages, and keep the
Mowlam management team fully updated with live ticketing reports. The
migration was completed successfully over just three weeks, creating a robust
foundation for ongoing managed support.
In addition, VEI Global deployed mobile signal boosting systems across homes
where coverage was weak. These enterprise-grade systems improve
connectivity for all mobile carriers, ensuring staff have reliable communication
tools and residents can stay always connected with loved ones.
The partnership began in 2023 and continues today. The initial Wi-Fi
stabilisation project was delivered within three weeks, and VEI Global now
provides ongoing managed IT services and mobile signal support for all
Mowlam homes nationwide.
